For lots of details on NYC agencies, including specific staff members’ names, titles and contact information, consult a current copy of the NYC Greenbook – it’s the city directory, and most libraries have a reference copy on file – check with your local reference librarian. You can also purchase a copy from CityBooks. 311 is supposed to be an extensive switchboard to city agencies, but there’s been some controversy in the news lately about how effective they really are.
