PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT PHONE #: 929-925-5145 Monday, April 20, 2026 6/15 GREEN 2026 SPRING FESTIVAL AND PLANT SALE 6/15 Green, a community garden in the South Slope (at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 15th Street in Brooklyn) launches its public events for the year with its annual Spring Festival and Plant Sale on Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 am to dusk. Festivities include activities for children, live music, arts exhibitions and a bake sale.The rain date will be Sunday, May 10th. A potluck is scheduled to start at 4:00. Some activities will take place on 15th Street, which will be closed off from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The plant sale will take place from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The community potluck starts at 4:00. Admission is free, and open to the public. 6/15 Green's Festival will begin--as it always does--with joyful music for the children from 11:00 to 12:00. Brooke Dramer will perform with Mikhail Haramati, with special guest Eman Rashid will be performing their mix of Beatles music and folk music for kids, and will be joined by their menagerie of hand puppets: Ringo the Octopus, Puff the Dragon, Augie and Hippolyta Hippo, and enough puppets to go around so that the children will get to join them onstage during the finale. The musicians performing for the rest of they day will include: ⦁ David Emmett with special guest Justin Cornell, Noon; Americana, NOLA R&B. ⦁ Driftwood Brothers, 1;00; Pop rock cover duo. They have a regular gig at Prospect Bar & Grill. ⦁ Shu Nakamura Band, 2;00; Original funk & rock from a high energy trio, singing in Japanese and some serious guitar playing by Shu. ⦁ The Night Breakers, 3:00, R & B and Blues. They have a regular gig at Freddy's and Young Ethel's. Everything from She caught the Katy to their really great originals. ⦁ Tracy Fitz and friends, 4:00, TBA ⦁ Gabriel Meyers, 5:00. Solo. Rock covers and originals; great singer/guitarist seen regularly fronting the band a bird. ⦁ Eagle/Colt Combo, 6:00 - 8:00 Bebop and soul jazz.They have a monthly residency at Freddy's in the front room, and write originals as good as the classic jazz they play. Exhibiting artists will include: THE OPEN SPACE GALLERY PROJECT visiting artists Joseph Militello and Richard Kessler. ArtsPSWT (https://www.artspswt.com) collective artists Carol Adams (potter) and Linda Schneider (painter) will also be exhibiting work. Short poetry readings- by Paola Corso at 2:45, and Peter Schneider at 3:45 - cap a celebration of both of their new books. Shneider will be present all afternoon, and passing out poems!
